International recogntion for Decorex
The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has commended Decorex for its marketing to potential visitors. Decorex, South Africa's leading décor and design exhibition, owned and managed by the Thebe Exhibitions and Events Group, received this comment on its entry in the Attendance Promotion Campaign 50 000 - 150 000 category of the IAEE's annual Art of the Show competition, the results of which were announced in Dallas earlier this week. The Art of the Show competition recognises excellence in promotional materials for the exhibitions and events industry in 13 categories spanning three show sizes. IAEE President Steven Hacker congratulated Thebe Exhibitions and Events for its outstanding work on Decorex, saying the Art of the Show competition gathers the best international examples of really dynamic marketing and sales collateral together in one place.
Brian Kennedy, Chairman of the Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) says this recognition is a first for South Africa and will increase the profile of South African exhibitions and events in the international arena. Carol Weaving, Managing Director of Thebe Exhibitions and Events says Decorex is the group's flagship project. "We are truly pleased with this international recognition. We have a magnificent team and the Decorex brand has become a force to be reckoned with." Decorex is held annually in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town and has its own retail range - Decorex Limited - comprising mainly of decorative accessories for the home and kitchen.
